"If you only breathe without eating, you will soon stop breathing."
This is exactly what happens if you only pray without study of the word.
Ephesians 6:10 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, BE STRONG in the LORD, and in the POWER of his MIGHT.
Two instructions given here: 1. Be Strong in the Lord 2. Be Strong in His Power
"In the Lord" is our Lord, Jesus Christ Luke 2:11 (NKJV) For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
He is also the WORD. John 1:1,14 (NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...
Therefore, being 'STRONG IN THE LORD' is storing up the WORD on our hearts & mind. As well as understanding and using THE NAME OF JESUS as our AUTHORITY AS A BELIEVER.
Being 'STRONG IN HIS POWER' means functioning fully in the ANOINTING & POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT. Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
In the Old Testament only the King, Priest or Prophets were anointed to function; but in the New Testament, WE are armed with both: AUTHORITY & POWER. These two will put the kingdom of darkness on the run. Wow!!! We are totally armed to succeed! Praise God!!
