Someone sent this to me
“Christian sister got pregnant and the Church decided to discipline her since she was not married.
When the elders of the Church met and interviewed her, she told them that she has stayed and remained in the Church for several years and no one is marrying her and she is getting to and approaching the age of menopause where she can't get pregnant even if married.
So after reading some Christian medical journals on this issues, she decided and did artificial insemination since she too wants a child. She tendered both the medical journals and the medical documents that showed that she has done the artificial insemination from a reputable hospital.
The Sister is pregnant without committing fornication nor adultery with any man.
*NOW, COULD THIS BE A SIN?*
Kindly give your reasons for your answer and if possible back it with Scripture, so dat we can learn.
What's your position sir?

MY RESPONSE
1. CHURCH DISCIPLINE
Now don’t crucify me sir for what am about to say.
"Even if she committed adultery are we the one to judge her?"
We misappropriate church discipline because we lack understanding of it. 1 Corinthians 5:5 is usually used to carry out those actions: deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
And take it out of context! Now don’t get me wrong, am not in support of adultery or sin. Certainly Not!
They don’t read from the first verse
1 Corinthians 5:1 (NKJV)
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you,
and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—
that a man has his father’s wife!
Note “such sexual immorality”. This particular case, is one of INCEST not regular fornication (am not saying it’s a lesser sin. SIN is SIN).
And this particular guy when confronted wasn’t REPENTANT and at the same time PROUD IN SIN.
Verse 2 says he was PUFFED UP in his sin!
And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
So that was why Paul gave that verdict in verse 5.
So we should ask, WHAT WILL JESUS DO?
And of course the bible recorded what Jesus did with the story of the woman accused of adultery.
John 8:7 (NKJV)
So when they continued asking Him,
He raised Himself up and said to them,
“He who is without sin among you,
let him throw a stone at her first.”
And again I MUST PUT OUT A DISCLAIMER: AM NOT PROMOTING SIN OR JUSTIFYING IT! Am just rightly dividing the word and showing you what the Master will do.
If we carry on with this kind of discipline, then every scripture on forgiveness of sin, repentance should be expunged from the bible. And we belittle the the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and underestimate the LOVE of God for us.
Paul also spoke about this man's case in 2 Corinthians 2:6-7 - Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
He reiterated that the man be forgiven and love should reign exactly what Jesus would do.
2 Corinthians 2:10 - To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
And the popular scripture we quote was actually a fallout of this discuss: 2 Corinthians 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
2. IS IVF A SIN?
That been said, your question bothers on IVF which mildly explained is fusion of the ovum and spermatozoa in a control environment and planted inside the woman’s uterus. (refer to the image)
No sexual act occurred!
Jesus also took it a step further to say that sexual sins starts from the mind. I usually preach the number one sex organ is the mind.
Matthew 5:28 (NKJV)
But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to
lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
The word 'heart' there is the mind. When one imagines in their heart a naked woman and desires to have sex with her or vice versa, in the New Testament, you have sinned. That’s what happens when one watches pornography.
So what’s my point?
She didn’t do that either.
She didn’t sleep with a man, she didn’t fantasize over a man either!
SO MY VERDICT IS THAT IVF IS NOT SIN. Science is developing at a fast rate.
Have you wondered what happened here?
Genesis 2:21-22 (NKJV)
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam,
and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman,
and He brought her to the man.
I believe this is an example of GENETIC ENGINEERING and medical science is catching up to this kind of engineering & science.
The word translated ‘rib’ is צֵלָע sêlâ it means 'side', 'to limp' - to signify that the woman is supposed to lean and depend on the man though they are equal and the same. The woman is not inferior to man. It also means leaf, floor beam, board, corner which might mean foundation or base. But another meaning that interests me is 'door'. Am not a Hebrew or Greek scholar but these meanings appear to refer to foundation of life or door to life (Natural life that is)?
Sound to me like DNA?
Another theory says that Adam never lost a rib, that God is not destructive. But medical science has found that the male rib contains enough genetic information for the DNA engineering to be successful unlike the rib of a woman. This supports that Adam's physical rib or some parts of it were taken out. That's why Adam woke up and said bone of my bone (not specifically because of the rib he supposedly lost) and flesh of my flesh. But because he possibly saw a creature that is human and probably looks like him.
So medical science is getting closer and closer, remember the bible says this: Daniel 12:4 (NKJV) “....and knowledge shall increase" .
So i leave that for you to decide
Another look at the word, 'made' in Genesis 1:22 is bana {בָּנָה ḇânâ;} a primitive root; to 'build', 'obtain children' & make'. Bana is different from the word used in Chapter 1 & 2 translated 'create' & 'formed' when animals and man were brought forth.
Knowledge is sure increasing. Any technology you see released is years old it is isn’t latest as they claim it is.
It like saying i won't eat any farm produce from a farm using mechanised farming, i would only eat produce from a farm using manual labour!
Selah (pause and think) for a moment.
3. IS IVF A SIN IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE OF THE SINGLE LADY?
I think we need to define what “sin” is.
1 John 3:4 (KJV)
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law:
for sin is the transgression of the law.
Sin is transgressions against the law, commands and instructions. Sin causes a rife with God and separation from God.
We’ve established that IVF on its own under the right circumstance is not sin. What circumstance? When done by married couples struggling to have children, or a widow who had her husband’s sperm frozen before his death.
People have asked, "if employing a surrogate to carry your child like a reality star recently did is sin".
This lady’s case is different, she just didn’t want her shape to be affected due to pregnancy. But if she had issues conception and her ability to carry a child full term, then that’s different.
She just used a woman’s womb as a natural incubator. And since a woman’s blood doesn’t mix with that of the baby, nothing doing, nothing wrong.
God used Mary as a natural incubator for His Seed.
So either way, having a surrogate isn’t wrong!
If a single woman does IVF to have a child is it a sin?
Am struggling to find a scripture on that. I admit I don’t know it all. But see what I know.
Malachi 2:15 (NKJV)
But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one?
He seeks godly offspring.
Therefore take heed to your spirit,
And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
Where the bible says that one of the reasons for marriage is because He seeks godly seeds. This informs us that God wants a child to come into the world with a Father & Mother present. That’s why He didn’t get Mary to carry Jesus until she was pledged to Joseph in marriage.
Matthew 1:18 (NKJV)
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:
After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
And when Joseph wanted to make her a single parent He sent His angel
Matthew 1:19-20 (NKJV)
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,
and not wanting to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away secretly.
But while he thought about these things, behold,
an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream,
saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife,
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
So God doesn’t want children raised without either or both parents (apart from inevitable circumstances like death of a spouse).
So if one bases IVF by an unmarried single lady as a sin on this and the one flesh scripture I wonder what they will say about Mary carrying someone else’s child.
My point is I don’t see any conclusive two or more scriptures to confirm this case as a sin.
4. CONCLUSION
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,
they are the sons of God.
My first question for the lady is, 'is it God's will for her to do that?' or is it just her will?
Why won't she consider adoption?
Is she prepared for the fall out of her decision?
She should consider my points to consider below.
Thank you

⚠️POINTS TO CONSIDER ⚠️.
1. Any single lady seeking to do that should know that the seed of the man in question will carry spiritual DNA that will be transmitted to the child. 2. The child will be raised without a father figure. Not that it matters because a lot of children are raised by single mothers and they turned out right. But God has a reason why He wants children raised in a balanced home and psychologists have confirmed this.
3. How will the child feel about it when he is old?
4. The motive of her heart.
Remember to hit me up. Everything can’t be said in a single post though I tried to cover lots of ground.
