God-Kind of Loyalty: Top to Bottom

We are mostly familiar with bottom to top forms of loyalty, but with this post, i want to draw your attention to TOP to BOTTOM loyalty.

There are remarkable stories of such loyalty in the bible; such as the bond between David & Jonathan. In spite of his father, King Saul's persistence, he refused to disengage from David. He was even willing to give his life for him.

Moses was LOYAL to his SUBORDINATE Joshua in the battle field,

Exodus 17:11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

Also at the selection process,

Numbers 27:18

And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;

I have seen leaders at the point of selecting the one that will take over from him/her, become disloyal to those that were utterly loyal to the them; not once, not twice!

Dictionary Meaning:

loyalty

the quality of being loyal.

a strong feeling of support or allegiance.

Notice that the definition implies that what you are loyal to should be deserving of your loyalty. Think of the people, organizations, teams, causes, etc. to which you are (or have been) loyal. Which ones are deserving of your loyalty? Which ones are not? - Tim Hadley

The Bible has a lot to say about loyalty:

Proverbs 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

The greatest example of Top to Bottom Loyalty is God's undying, unfailing and total commitment to us. DIVINITY totally Loyal to MAN! What a God & Father. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He has promised to bless us to a 1,000 generations....

Exodus 34:7 loyal in love for a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin.
